Samian Roy | Director

Looking for a new challenge, Sam joined the Tongue & Groove team, where he heads the Property Services division. He's been able to excel in servicing existing and new client homes on their maintenance plans and smaller renovations. Managing subcontractors and working alongside our in-house design + build division, Sam enjoys working with a team to ensure issues are resolved, and our client's homes are pristinely maintained for decades to come.
Before his time with Tongue & Groove, Sam managed many renovation projects in the states and overseas. He is continually inspired by creativity and enjoys being a part of the unique projects Tongue & Groove produces. Originally from Connecticut, Sam was brought to Wilmington for college at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Sam had a passion for the ocean from a young age, which drove him to earn his Bachelors's Degree in Environmental Science and Minors in Chemistry and Biology.
Sam's positive approach, backed by a strong team throughout the Tongue & Groove company, will virtually guarantee that our homeowners will enjoy the comfort and beauty of their well-maintained homes for years to come. His ability to work toward common goals for successful results comes from his many years in the industry and is a natural fit for this position with Tongue & Groove Property Services.
In Sam's free time, you can find him out on the water, fishing, surfing, and going to the beach. Sam also enjoys renovating homes with his wife; they have done many projects on their own home and have renovated a few locally over the last few years.

Matt Madison | Service Manager

Matt was born and raised in Pickerington, Ohio, and moved to the Wilmington area with his wife in 2015. He studied engineering and finance in college. While working towards his degree, Matt began working in managerial roles and client relations. He quickly realized his true passions were building quality relationships with people over long periods and a career that allowed him to work with his hands on a daily basis.
At Tongue & Groove, Matt is an integral part of the Property Services division, working with clients on our warranty/service plans and coordinating subcontractors to ensure the needs of our clients are being met flawlessly and on time. Before being involved in Tongue & Groove's Property Services division, Matt started his journey with us as a carpenter, where he honed his woodworking skills and learned the process of building waterfront homes. Matt enjoys building furniture, disc golfing, and spending time downtown with his wife and two dogs in his free time.

David Huntsman | Service Manager

David has an extensive technology sales & development background and made the career transition to construction as this industry was a better match for his values and goals. He quickly realized he had a passion for carpentry and the satisfaction of building something beautiful with his hands.
David has been on the Tongue & Groove team for several years, beginning in our construction division and now finding his place on the property services team. David enjoys solving a homeowner's needs with a logical and steadfast approach, a strategy he learned while in the construction and technology industries.
Originally from Colorado, David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Colorado State University. He and his family made the move to Wilmington in 2018. On David's time off, you'll find him fishing or hanging out at the beach with his beautiful wife Tara and their children.

Kathryn Akerhielm | Accounting Manager

Kathryn brings 20-plus years of Accounting experience to the Tongue & Groove Property Services division. She holds a BSBA in Marketing with a minor in Accounting from American University in Washington DC. To ensure success, Kathryn is prompt, detail-oriented, professional, and analytical. Her years of experience within the Accounting industry give her the innate ability to execute with precision and communicate complex quantitative data. Her experience and a keen interest in home design and construction made her the perfect addition to the Accounting team at Tongue & Groove.
Originally from Delaware, Kathryn has had the pleasure of living in many states throughout the country. A few of her favorites are Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, Washington DC, Minnesota, South Carolina, and of course, where she now calls home, North Carolina. When she's not crunching numbers at the office, Kathryn is probably at the beach or riding her bike around the island. She has a passion for travel, photography, music, and spending days with family and friends.

Spencer Wishart | Service Manager

Meet Spencer, a skilled service manager for Tongue & Groove Property Services. Born in California and raised in Texas, Spencer moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, to pursue his career in construction. Spencer's passion for construction, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering exceptional service make him an invaluable Tongue & Groove team member. Whether tackling a complex repair or working on a routine maintenance task, Spencer brings his A-game every time, and his clients appreciate his hard work and dedication to getting the job done right.
Spencer initially studied Ocean Engineering at Texas A&M, but his love for working with his hands eventually led him to the construction industry. With nearly a decade of experience in residential construction, Spencer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at Tongue & Groove. Spencer started his journey with Tongue & Groove in the design-build division, where he was part of many exciting projects from start to finish. Recently, he transitioned to the Property Services team, where he continues to use his carpentry skills to deliver exceptional service to clients.
One of the things Spencer enjoys most about his work is being detail-oriented and managing a project from start to finish. He finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of the process and see the result come to life.
When he's not busy servicing our client's homes, Spencer likes to explore the Wilmington area with his girlfriend and discover new restaurants and beaches. Being near the water is a must for Spencer, and he enjoys getting out on the water whenever he can.
